Default my very first time shooting humming birds.

this is my very first time shooting these little guys, all of these were taken with my 30D and 100-300mm lens

Pretty good for a first attempt. The second image is pretty sharp and good body position. If you set up the feeder near flowers or flowers near the feeder then you might get to shoot some in the flowers and thats always a treat.

Is that sugar crystalizing on the inside of the glass feeder? Just a reminder that during the warmer days of Summer, Hummingbird feeders should be cleaned , and refiilled every 2 to 3 days as the sugar solution goes bad very quickly.

Very nice. Were you using flash to stop the wings?

And what's that stuff inside the bulb?

Gary, I've found that boiling the water makes it last 5 days.

they weren't my feeders, they had em at the place I stayed at in Colorado Springs

nope, no flash, it was blazing bright (and hot) all natural light
