MAck, thanks for sharing !!...
I like the third and last photos better. The third has an awesome color effect. Really appealing, meaning I likes it. And the last image, is the opposite of the first. The leave in the sand is sort of alone, in the middle of the frame. Not as pleasing to the eye. Why is this last one more pleasing, since it is the same basic composition?... Despite being centered on the frame (vertical axis), it is a symmetrical photo. It creates, or gives to your eye/brain a feeling of balance. So the brain goes aaahh, I like that. And then onto imagining what the shell looked like from the outside, and other aspects of looking at the photo. Great series. Thank you for posting. Anyhow. Talent is there. Keep on shooting and sharing !!

First off, Welcome to POTN! I like idea behind the first, and the last is my favorite. Just as Mario says, it's more pleasing to look at. Something about the tip of the leaf being turned away pushes me away from the photo. Hope to see more of your work!

Second to last photo, I would frame and put in any expo or gallery in the world, today. Dead serious. (Specially knowing that kid is going to bite his tongue as soon as he lands.. Well, one hopes not).
And you did make some sort of typo, something about a Nikon something. You probably meant Canon 20D or 30D.

Quit your whining!!! The images are about your world and you are exploring it with your camera, that it what it is all about. I like the beach ones!! Shoot what pleases you, and share. Have fun with it, Take pictures of your family, and cherish them always. Just everyday stuff, when you get to be 40,50 or even older you will appreciate the look back. They really are snippets of time captured forever, or until your HD crashes...

first off, welcome and thanks for sharing. I agree with the above posters that you have a unique eye and that is something that, unlike fundamentals, is tough to teach. I suspect you'll only get better and better which means I expect to seem some great stuff from you!!!!
as for c&c, I like the first and fourth the best. perspective is very good and they look nicely exposed. I would offer up this suggestion, narrow your depth of field just a bit more. you can do this by opening up a bit and increasing your shutter spd to compensate the exposure, or by zooming in and/or moving closer. you may know this already so apologies if that's the case. otherwise, very nicely done and I look foward to your next post. peace. |
