I seriously lack compartments. I should make some extra velcro-tabs or something, because it's not really working like this. Quite some stuff is just sitting in my back pretty unprotected. Not that I'm really happy about it anyways (it's a pain to carry).

I've been on the lookout for a bag just for those lazy days
I don't mind lugging all my kit around in my Lowpero backpack, but sometimes
I just want the camera with 1 or 2 lenses

I didn't want to spend a lot as it really is just an occasional use bag, but
I didn't want something cheap and nasty that would drop to bits after a
couple of uses

After much searching I came across the Lowepro exchange messenger bag
It was light, pretty well padded, cheap and had the Lowepro quality about it

A quick search online and I managed to find it brand new for £25 delivered

Well it arrived today

I'm more than pleased with the quality on offer, with 2 repositionable
internal dividers and and three front pockets (one with a zipper)

I tried it out with my gripped 20D fitted with a Canon 28-135 IS and my two largest lenses (Siggy 15-30mm & Canon 70-200 f4)
No problem at all

So I should have no problem with any combination of camera/lenses, even more
so if i just use it for a lens bag and carry my camera in my hand

i'm waiting for my Canon 5DM3 to arrive

in the meantime i'm looking for a good shoulder bag

i used to own the Crumpler 5 million dollar home which was perfect for the Canon 7D + extra lens + flash

now, i was wondering if i should go for the 6 or 7 million model

here is what it would contain:

- 5DM3 + 24-70 attached
- 17-40
- 70-200 f4 IS
- 1 flash

i really want to optimize the space and get the smallest bag

your advices would be highly appreciated

if owners tell me that crumpler 6 million is just fine, i won't go for the 7 million if it fits

i don't need extra space

thanks

Ditto! I'm also waiting for my MkIII to arrive. The shipper pulled one of those tricks where they fill out the shipping label, but don't get the product to UPS until days later. It's annoying. I'm guessing they never had the camera in stock, but I digress..

I'm pretty sure that would all fit in a Domke F2 (a flash & lens in the side pockets, with camera and other lenses in the main compartment), but it sounds like you're more interested in a bag with good padding. Also, it would be a pretty tight fit, I think.

I have the 8 million, but it's bigger than I like to use most of the time. I'll be interested to see what the owners of the 6 million say...

i'm not a huge fan of Domke bag design

and i already own crumpler bags, so i feel comfortable with getting the same brand again

my only concern is about the bag size... 6 or 7 million

which one is the perfect fit for my gear ?

I used to have Crumpler bag, but I felt it was too padded. It was huge and heavy but with very little space.

Tripod can be carried with the bottom straps but my Manfrotto is to heavy to carry comfortably.
very nice, i have the Commute 2.0 bag which i also bought the camera insert bag for it as well. works great for traveling but it does get slightly heavy with my 15" Macbook Pro inside it.

Nice timbuk2 setup. Reminds me of a Crumpler Western Lawn bag.

Got the bag today, 11 days from China, not to bad. I think it's made pretty nicely. Double stitched in places, nice webbed material on the straps, leather at the buckles and snaps. A large outer pocket under the main flap, two small outer pockets on the ends, another pocket inside. The padded insert has decent padding and 4 velcro dividers. The material on the padded insert is looser than I expected, this would be the only fault I have found so far. The size is great for what I wanted. Great deal for $53 including shipping.

In the pics above that's the 100-400 and in the 7th pic there are two other lenses under it and the 7D.
