Where are your lens caps from? They look so much more useful than the stock ones.

The idea was good but I have the case stored vertically. You know how heavy this thing is loaded up. Unless its positioned in a location and position ready to open it takes a bit of time to get the bodies out. I still like the idea of my Domke with the 5D & a fast prime + 270EX mounted and ready to go. I have little ones and they don't wait.

They are quicker to get on and off but they are not as strong as the stock Tokina caps. They grip well to the B+W UV filters on my lenses but they often take a bit extra to get them to "grab hold". You can find them readily available of ebay.

Yes, officially Crumpler states 13", yet here is an image of an 8MDH with a 17" Dell Inspiron inside. The flap will close but it's not a comfortable fit. So it fits if your definition of fit is .... loose. I haven't tried yet but I think you could get a slimmer profile 15" laptop (MBP for example) in this bag properly.

here's a shot of my Lowepro Flipside 400AW (I took this bag on safari recently) it'snot MASSIVE but it fits a good selection of gear and I liked the security of the 'hidden' access...

camera phone, need i say more?

Just got my Domke F-2 today, tons and tons of space compared to the 5MDH. Pockets are enormous, hold tools, wireless flash kit, batteries, chargers, cables.I think I like it set up like this:

Are you storing your lenses without the end cap? That seems to me to be a good way to get dust into the mirror box.

Next time you're down ask to take a look at my F-7 Double AF . . . Thing is when you're actually shooting, the heavy stuff is out of the bag.

I asked Santa for two Domke bags, I didn't get either one.

Someday, I'm gonna own a Domke. And that is that.

I stopped believing in Santa when I realized he was willing to settle for LowePros, Tamracs and Crumplers :{)#

OK...now I have a stupid question about packing a camera bag...

In these super packed bags, where do you pack the lens hoods? I see pictures of the inserts with the lenses all packed vertically, but no lens hood.

For example the lens hood on my Canon 24-70mm is huge. It doesn't fit in the insert, and takes too much room in other parts of the bag.

What am I missing?

Happy Holidays!

Some people put the lens hoods in reverse.
