Flipside 400 looks like a nice size, but does that waist belt come off? there's one on my expedition and its padded nicely, however that's what makes a lot of the bulk.

bobn15.....no, the waiste belt does not come off. That is the exact reason that I cancelled my order for the Flipside 400. If I'm not going to use the strap all the time, it will definitely get in the way. I also went to the store again and tried to get my gear in and out of the floor model that they have. The shoulder straps kept getting in the way while I was opening the bag, and taking gear out.
I decided on the Streetwalker (not the Pro). It is more compact and works well with all of my gear....especially since I don't use a grip on my 7D. The Pro version seemed too deep and the gear rattled around. All 3 bags have had positive reviews though. Something for everyone.

DL P...interesting choice.
I have the same bag. Plan (when my car is out of storage) is to fit it between the seats to carry my gear. Car is a 2 seater...not much room. I have a d300s with a grip. It fits. Barely.

Not too big fan of Crumpler bags, used to have one but sold it. But those are really great photos of the bags, look even better than the Crumpler webpage has! :O

Thanx Oskar, Unlike Crumpler I don't find the bags being done justice when they are portrayed on a naked old man...

My camera bag. Fits the 1DIV + zeiss 35mm f2 ZE mounted and two more lens slots. One might fit the 24-70, the other 50mm 1.4.

Very nice! I would love to get 1 for my travel use but always worry about the white getting off white after repeated use

Well i think that is unavoidable, for something that is a little more rugged the R-10X series from Kata is probably a better solution. For me who mainly use this in urban areas and it's really not a issue. |
