The objective is to find (or make) a bag that is suitable for just being out and about with my camera. It cannot be big or bulky and it doesn't need to hold a whole lot. If I'm not out on assignment or with a specific shooting location in mind I don't want to carry as much stuff as I normally would.

boda dry. Too bad they don't make them anymore, I still love mine. See also the lowe pro exchange messenger (dirt cheap too!).

Do you have 13 DSLRs ? :).

Not quite enough photos on this page, so here's a mediocre iPhone photo of the current state of my bag collection in the spare closet.

8 Timbuk2s, 5 Crumplers, and a couple stealth canvas messengers all hiding in here. Inserts are stacked on the shelf above the bags.

I keep meaning to get those hooks you're using there. Mini-'biners work OK on my current setup, but can get a tad awkward when everything's in place.

Different bags for different gear combinations. Surely you've seen this shot before:

Well, which bag I need depends on where I'm going, what I'm carrying, and - most importantly - what I'm wearing. :D

I still absolutely love these hooks. Despite actually getting rid of bags, somehow I've managed to increase my collection to the point I'm actually a couple of hooks shy (2 Timbuk2 and 1 Crumpler bag are actually MIA from the picture above) so I need to track down a few more either online or at my local hardware place.

I picked up about 15 of these: Interdesign S-hook (external link). They are very easy to use, except they occasionally spin a little too far and fall off the bar when removing a bag.

Wow, that's quite a few bags! I have about 5 and my boyfriend thinks that's enough! :D

Ok, well, only 4 actual camera bags, and two other bags that I made into camera totes utilizing an organizer from Thirty-One, lol.

I have a Lowepro SlingShot 100 (fantastic vacation bag), Lowepro Flipside 300 (mostly a storage bag, that thing is friggin' huge), Epiphanie Stella, and just bought a Crumpler 4MDH

I currently have a Pelican 1514 case but find it a tad small. I have been looking at this X300 and was wondering if anyone can tell me if this case is deep enough to hold, vertically, the 85L and the 24-105 with the hood attached.

Thanks

Ok... I haven't even looked at the other bags on this page yet. All I can say is, I NEED the first one.

I was going to be using a regular Swiss Gear backpack for my books & laptop + the Outback 200 on my side (or parts of the 200..)

All of the LowePro laptop + camera bags were way too big for me. This one wins because it comes with a removable pouch & the backpack is water-resistant..... LOVE IT.

A different color scheme would be nice though.. gonna look around.

EDIT---

Nice, it apparently comes in black! http://www.thirdworldnerd.com …-identity-camera-bag.html (external link)

Another good review - http://technoodling.net …ler-local-identity-haven/ (external link)

Yep, definitely need this bag.. finally found pictures of how it works.....

EDIT... ok, now I'm checking out Crumpler's other laptop backpacks... now I have way too many options LOL

Edit... it's between the Karachi Outpost, Local Identity, and the C List Celebrity..

Jon, thanks for digging up my previous link, I couldn't remember where I got them! :)

It is, but they are MUCH cheaper at Lowe's, which is the link Jon posted. Last time I just did an online order for in-store pick up at my local Lowe's, so I didn't have to go searching the store for them. I'll probably do the same this time.

I also have a few of these double hooks in there, they're very handy for the smaller bags and purses:

Fortunately you haven't got an overwhelming number of posts in here. So I just searched the posts you've made in this thread.
