Default Smoky Wheelie and Spin

Last weekend this rather amazing performance became the feature of a nostalgia-type drag race called the H.A.M.B. Drags. The car is an accurate reproduction of a particular 1960's dragster. The car pulled a giant wheel stand with the tires smoking, then did a full 360 degree spin without touching a guardrail, timing light or cone. I've never seen anything like it.

Pardon me for just putting a link to forum of the race organizer where I have posted my pictures, but I am too technologically challenged to do it properly here.

Jim,

Nice series! Where's the rest of the photos from the HAMB drags!? I talked to Carl this weekend. We need to talk soon as well.

Thanks Erik. I just got the Truett and Osborn Motorcycle Drags put to bed, then I used the holiday to get Wichita's last Pro Mod race of the season ready to go, and now I plan to turn my attention to the rest of the HAMB Drags pics. By the way, I used the Novatrons at the HAMB Drags. There is power at a pole on the spectator side when the lights are turned on. You might give it a whirl. Unfortunately, the receiver batteries on my Ebay remote were getting low and despite carrying everything but the kitchen sink with me, I didn't have any Alkaline AAs! I ruined a lot of shots, but finally figured out I could get images if I shot at 1/30th and stayed close to the receiver. Funny how that works.

Feel free to shoot me an email or PM me. I've gotten quite addicted to this forum.
