Default Re: who's had dealings (good AND bad) with DIGITAL REV?

Sorry to revive an old thread....

I have ordered from DigitalRev on two occasions now. The first order was for a couple months ago when I bought a Canon 70-200 F2.8 IS II. The order seemed to stay at the 'processing' stage for a while. I learned that they were delayed due to the Chinese New Year. I did receive the lens in perfect shape on the last day of the estimated delivery time.

The current order I have with them hasn't been a great experience. I ordered a Canon 35mm F1.4 this past Monday from their website. It said expected delivery between Thursday May 24th and Saturday May 26th. Well, the order didn't SHIP until today (May 25th). So I have no idea how it could have possibly been delivered as early as yesterday when it didn't ship until this morning?

Two emails to them went unanswered. I resorted to calling them and did speak with a helpful gent who apologised and said there was a delay because they had changed shipping warehouses. There was no mention of this when I placed my order. Also, instead of shipping with FedEx or DHL as they mentioned, it has shipped with some company called 'Aramex' whom I have NEVER heard of, and expected delivery is between Monday 28th May and Wednesday 30th May. Grrrrrr.....

I bought from DigitalRev because compared to all the other Hong Kong sellers, they presented themselves as the most 'polished' operator. Their shipping and dispatch/customer service teams don't seem to live up to their hype.

That said, I will certainly re-evaluate using them on my next purchase, and will suggest the same to others.

honestly this thread is pointless imo. ive seen people who have had bad experiences with KEH, adorama, bh, etc too. no company is perfect. people screw up every minute of everyday. the fact that digitalrev may get more attention is because they have a popular youtube series but overall i think they are just like anyone else. keeping in mind that most orders from them are international i think that they do ok.
