Default Couple more of my niece at 6 months.

Hi,

I am finding myself using the 50mm f/1.4 more and more. Has anyone found this and made a switch to the 1.2L. I would love that extra speed but it's expensive and has known focus issues. I mean, I don't know about anyone else, but if it really has has backfocus issues how dare Canon continue to sell it at such a price. For that money, I would expect the best. Is it even worth considering?

This question should maybe go in the Lens section, but I still want to post a few images of my sisters beautiful baby. C&C welcome as they are all quite different from each other (i.e this is very much experimentation)......and yes, the third is actually on a different lens .

I like the last one. Nice sparkle in the eyes.

She is adorable! I think number one is the best of the 3. But her left eye is a tad on the dark side in comparison to her right eye. Other than that good catchlights and b&w coversion. Now I wanna try this one with my son if he would sit long enough, this is just a great shot.

I like the first one! In the 3rd, I'm not sure I like the big blurry hand (?) in the foreground, but that's just me. She's adorable!!

Thank you so much for the comments.

I guess this could be corrected with a little fill light in LR.

Hehe! Good luck. She can't walk or even crawl yet so there are quite a few still moments. She actually seems to enjoy the camera. I don't know if it's the noise of the shutter, the sparkle of the lens or just the attention.

It is indeed her hand and I agree that it's looks a little clumsy. I personally still like it though as, due to the incredibly small DOF, the intended focus of attention if still fairly defined. I took quite a few with the macro. There is a nicer one actually but the focus is her other eye and she had dried up gunk dribbling from the far corner . I wiped it and took a few more but they were a little rushed.

Thanks again! Any other comments are very much appreciated. Also, if anyone has used the 50mm f/1.2L as a replacement for the 1.4, I would love to hear what you think.

TDCat.
