Default F1 Belgian Grand Prix

Went to Spa last weekend for F1, cheaper than going to Silverstone, and 10 times a better circuit!! You have to see Eau Rouge to believe it!

Anyway onto the photographs..

Richard Westbrooke, who was sitting nicely for a podium until he was punted off at the last corner!

Race winner Raikkonen through Stavelot

A hot Mini though Stavelot

Jenson Button through Pouhon

And a Supercup Porsche at 1/60th

Thanks for looking, any comments AND criticisms welcomed with open arms!

Cheers
Andy

The only tip I might have is that the photos are a little "flat" color wise ... do some PP to increase contrast a bit, maybe play with the levels.

Very sharp photos though! Great panning work! What lens did you use?

Thanks for the criticism! Really!

They're similar because with F1 and most circuits these days, you struggle to get close to the action without some serious zoom. With 300mm I was just able to get to these few on the apex of some corners.

Is the 200kph bit good or bad? i.e. are you please it's in focus or is it like "yeah great, it's in focus - big deal" ?

I find it difficult to adjust most things to get them to stand out and still keep the photograph "looking real".

Thanks for the tips though, appreciated!

there is nothing wrong with your shots. - in fact they are great panning shots. and i like the angled look .

its just they are the same as what i see else where.

I know that getting access is difficult - and the bloody fences these days.

I think i was having a bad day the other day - what you have show is good shots of cars and you have maintained the aspect of speed. I believe the shots that stand out these days are the ones that show some action.. like a couple of cars squabbling on a corner.. etc.

Maybe looking at your shots the cars appear very isolated - i don't see the action due to the fact it could be practice for all we know. and indeed it could be any circuit. (jeez i struggle with that still) However you have a great base to start from as these pictures show. Keep going and good luck.
