Welcome to the forum!
The picture is nice, but taken a little differently it could have been much better. Here are a couple of suggestions. Firstly the wheat in the foreground looks very white compared to the lovely red colour further back. I assume this is because you used a flash - I think it would have been better without. Secondly I'd have had the lady a bit closer to the camera so we could make out a little more detail. Perhaps offset her to the right. Keep them coming. BB

I like it - it makes me wonder what she is doing out there all alone. For critique I will say that I don't like the sky, it doesn't really go with the picture for some reason. I would love to see the field against a partly cloudy blue sky.

Definitely, would have beet better without flash, IMO. Still good, though.

I agree with the flash, was a bit annoying when I got it home and downloaded it On a side note, Im looking at investing in a new lens for general portrait work, any advice? Once again thanks ever so much for the C&C aitch |

I think the flash here is a good idea, but it's TOO strong. And the main object in the photo (the girl) is TOO far.
Despite all this, I like the warm colors of the sunset light. |

i really like the photo, but i agree it would look better without flash, it ruins the warm light from the sunset. out of curiosity, where was it taken? looks farmiliar.
i have a more general suggestion regarding posting photos: don't convert to GIF - JPG would be the right format for photos. GIF is meant for images with areas of solid colour (less detailed). Converting a photo to GIF will generally not look very good (although this one looks OK but you can see the dots in the sky). Also file sizes will be much bigger. this one is 388k. with a jpg you could get better looking results at under 100k. anyway, nice work, look forward to seeing more.

i like the detail that the flash brought to the foreground but don't like how it washed it out. i agree on the sky too, would be nice with some big fluffy clouds back there or maybe dark fluffy clouds. which make you feel more alone or put you in a bit darker mood, with her being alone out there
the color of the girl and the surrounding maze is really nice and i like that she is out there alone |

nice shot,
beside all what has been said , you could follow a golden rule in landscape whaen the sky is part of it : 1/3- 2/3 either 1/3 of the picture is sky or the opposite, beleive me it changes alot the whole appearence. surprinsingly, I often find thAt when the sky is 2/3 of the shot, the landscape is more mysterious. if you think of enlarged print, than go for 1/3 sky regards Khalid |
