Default Getty Center, Los Angeles

I made it out to the Getty, it rained just before and the sky is full of big fluffy clouds and the air is so clear, you can see very far without any haze. Both which are somewhat of a rarity in Southern California.

The lighting was good on some parts but when it got hazy, I noticed a loss of contrast that I don't like with hazy sky. But we kept our WB on cloudy to bring up more colors so when processing in RAW you don't have to adjust the WB as much. We were waiting for the twilight but the sun fell down on a big cloud and that was pretty much it.

Great shots. Tom! Those clouds sure add to the pics, don't they? And wasn't the rain great? I really like #5, tho I think it's leaning a bit to the left. 405 seems rather empty.

Hey thanks, for no 5 I added a touch of dutch angle as I prefer to not squarly line up the shots all the time. Not sure if it worked with that swooping line formed by the railing though.

I agree, sometimes a little tilt works wonders. For me, in this case, it looks like you forgot to straighten it.

Wow, great stuff. Personally I like the "after". The juxtaposition of the railing and the freeway pulls me right in. Good job.

Hey thanks all. Getty is a great place to take pictures and see other photogs of all levels.
I'll see the typical newbie with dslr with a kit lens to top notch stuff.

I kind of snickered and felt sorry for a guy with a big domke bad, a medium format body, and a big old Gitzo tripod. The thing must have weighted like 20lb's or something, but he couldn't use it at all and ended up handholding all his shots as they don't allow any tripods.
