Default A-10 Thunderbolt II West Coast Demonstration Team

Seeing this bad boy fly brought back a bunch of great childhood memories. I use to see these things in the air all the time before the downsizing of our military.

Nice shots.

they used to be based here in Madison, WI, but now they've been replaced with f-18's (I think)

Awesome! I still see A-10 warthogs all the time, living right off the reservation at Barksdale Air Force Base. I love the shape of these jets, and I love the paint job on the Warthogs.

nice shots man. where were you shooting from? i was there yesterday also in the chalet village tent all the way down to the left by the snowbirds, that weapons demonstration and wall of fire were awesome. i can believe those 30mm rounds are the size of coke bottles and go off at 70 rounds/sec. they actually slow the plane down while firing, haha.

One of my favorite plane in the air. A tank that flies.

That's a great place, SBCmetroguy! My father retired there in 1979 from the 917th. Awesome, awesome aircraft! I will always have a special place in my heart for the A-10. I always enjoy pics of it, and the pics in this thread do it much justice.

I'm no aviation expert, but the A-10 is by far one of my favorite planes. Great photos!

70-200 F2.8 IS with Canon 2XTC for the aerial shots.
Close ups of the gun = SD800 P and S.

I've worked on that Aircraft. Not just on that airframe but on that specific aircraft. (274)
NIce shots. I haven't had any luck during our air pwoer demo here. I found out my lens was not focusing properly though. Its a good thing the warranty is still good they are fixing it for free.
