Default Good wildlife lens

Hi,

I'm going on a safari soon and am looking for a good telephoto lens. Currently have a Sigma 28-200 but not that happy with its performance and also need at least 300mm. Any suggestions welcome; prefer not to spend too much so L lenses probably out for the moment.

Thanks,

I see you're in a low budget, I would recomend you a sigma or canon 70-300 or 75-300 and even consider a kenko 1,4x if compatible with the lens. Hope you have a good safari and show us some pics of your trip

Probably about the cheapest option is the Sigma 75-300mm APO

Although I would recommend the Canon 300mm f4

Cheapest: Sigma 70-300 "APO" DG Macro

Upper-Middle: Tamron 200-500 SP or Sigma 50-500 EX

High: Canon 100-400 IS

I was in Kruger National Park (South Africa) last month and was using the 70-300 IS. Depending on how much is not too much, this may be your best alternative.
