Default First ever People shoot

Senior Picture attempt. I was frustrated when my day started off with my 430EX taking a swim and dying on me. So I was stuck with on Camera flash with my 400D, So anyways if you want you can take a look at them here, No editing done, straight off the camera and resized. Any editing is welcome if you would like to, thanks!

By the way, IMG_6515 Is a total joke!

It's tough shooting with direct, harsh sunlight. Sorry about your flash. Did it survive? My only comment would be to change the time of the shoot or find more "open shade" to shoot in. These aren't bad, just a hard situation.

Good try, mixed results, but I think you could come up with a few good pictures from the set.

i think that in most pics the subject is underexposed. I don't know whether your onboard flash was at full power, but if it wasn't then putting the FEC up 2/3 - 1 stops might help. Otherwise it's just a shame the 430ex wasn't working!

Yeah, you had your work cut out for you there with the lighting. The poses and most of the compsitions are great. I hope you don't mind, but I reworked one of them for you. Here is the before and after. Keep in mind, I'm no expert in photoshop but here they are.

First, the before

And the after

The post processed shots look the goods.

Sorry to hear about the flash.
Did you try leaving the flash in a gas oven with the pilot light on for a few days so it's 100% completely dry?

Some of these can be retouched to give acceptable results. Here is one (image 6458) that I did a quick retouch to. Of course it depends on how much time you want to spend on PP and what changes you want to make.

Tough lighting in many instances. Your 430EX may have helped. Mottled sun/shade is really difficult to deal with. Good poses, good model.

I insisted we not take a shot there but noooooo She can get a serious attitude and the only way to get her to shut up was to stand in front of the sun so she would stop B******G.
