Default How does this RAW look to you?

The first one is how a RAW file out of a 20D with 70-200 IS at 1600 ISO, 1/250 and f2.8 looks like on Windows RAW Image Viewer unprocessed. and The second is 100 % crop.

Is it how it is supposed to look?

In Windows RAW image viewer, it's supposed to look like crap. It's a crap program.

Maybe you've already considered this... but you could have used a lower shutter speed and tried to expose to the right a bit, and the noise wouldn't be so bad. I think it was Curtis N that gave me a link about this a while ago, but I'm at work and don't have it.

In a word no.

If you can send a link to the RAW then people probably can view it better.
