Default Help me out if you would be so kind

So ok I designed cd fro a client. I shot the photography for it and layed it out and manipulated my own fotos.
The client is wanting the front cover of the album hi res pic.
There was no contract I am learning "trial by fire" but here is the deal what i feel and tell me and please give me some advice if you would thanks.
I was paid for time to lay it out design it, call the printers for prices, and take the pictures for the cd cover inside and band shots. I do not feel that they paid nearly enough to own/have the hi res pics of the cover.
any great advice from the pros would be awesome thanks so much

First off what do you mean, hi res pics? are you talking print here or the actual file? If it is a print I would charge them an appropriate price for the print. If it is the files they want then we are talking some major bucks as this is a ploy to get more use out of the image without paying for it.

Yeah, I would agree that if they are wanting the full size image file that you should negotiate a seperate price. Might be a good lesson to learn though that in the future you will really want to spell out what they are and are not paying for already. I can see how they would be under the impression that they already should get those images since they paid for the shoot. If it was me, and I hadn't already cleared spelled out that they were not getting that, I wouldn't try to charge too much for it. My father is in the music business and you may get more work down the road by word of mouth if you keep things on good terms with them.
