Default G9 Vacation Photo - Just One

Went on a cruise and took my G9 and 5D. Used the G9 as a walkaround/daylight, and used the 5D where I needed a wide angle (17-40 lens), or dimly lit areas.

Using the G9 at ISO 100, and shooting in RAW produced some great shots. The best shot of the entire vacation, regardless of camera (which in this case was the G9) is below.

Picture was taken from out balcony, deck 10, in Cozumel, Mexico.

Have to add this one as well. It appears the boat is floating above the water.

Must be the angle/lens/distance that gives them that appearance.

Our ship was NCL's, Norwegian Sun. Oddly enough, I don't have a picture of our ship alone, but here's one parked next to a Carnival ship in Cozumel. Our ship is the one with the "Freestyle" banner.

It is so amazing to see the colors and sharpness of an area that does not have any smog!

I am quickly finding the G9 is all the camera I need in most instances. Its focus speed is very fast for a P&S and the quality of just the Jpgs is fantastic. So far I think it is the best $460 bucks I have spent in a long time on camera gear. And best of all, my back and arms are thanking me because of its light. A SLR is better of course but as a walkaround the G9 is just as good.

I thought that very thing. I thought it was one of those coin opperated remote control boats, until I saw the people that is.

I couldn't agree more. My 5D got very little use compared to the G9. But...when I needed the 5D, I am certainly glad I had it.
