Independence, MO Fire Department Training Excercise
I had the opportunity to attend a HAZMAT training excercise for the Fire Department that I dispatch for. They ran through 2 scenarios involving Mercaptan (the odorant added to Natural Gas to aid in detection). The first scenario was a tractor trailer accident with another vehicle, resulting in a small leak.

The second scenario involved a major leak during a transfer of the Mercaptan between the tractor trailer and a rail car.
