I think you will find that in Europe and Asia demo teams DO shoot flares at Airshows, although the ones posted by Gyrob were taken on Donna Nook range

some great pics in this thread
regards Chris

Chris,
In that case I stand corrected, I have never seen it myself in Europe and I cannot comment about Asia.
I have been on the other end so to speak, over Donna Nook doing just that!

Echo your comments about the great photos on the thread.

All from one airshow. The only aviation I have done.

Mark.

Just to clarify my flare shots , they were taken at a bombing range, RAF Donna Nook on the east coast.
i was outside the range for the shots as your not alowed on it when fireing is on, but i was only 20yds outside :)

When I was on the USS Ronald Reagan this past Sunday, a Seahawk did a mock delivery of a SEAL team on the deck and as it left, they fired off their flares. I wasn't paying attention to the bird, but taking shots of the team "clearing" the deck, so I missed getting a good shot of it. But, we were out at sea... nothing to set a fire out there!

Oh boy, these are fantastic.

I'm subscribing to this to keep up to date. I'll check to see if I have three I consider worth sharing (Who am I kidding - I've got some - not the greatest but I'd love to share them later ;))
