Default Wintery Day Trip

Well, I'm off on a day trip to Central Washington.

The good news is I have all my gear loaded and will see a lot of wintery scenes, since it's been snowing in the area I'm going to since yesterday.

The not-so-good news is the driving hazards in this type of weather. But I have to do it, so...

Wish me a safe journey, and some pleasant images!

No fair driving by "braille"!

When the snowfall is too heavy to take pictures, the snowfall is too heavy!

Man, what a day it was! Eight hours of driving, most of the daytime in either heavy rain, heavy snow, or a mix! And then, time was an essential element, because I needed to get there and back again!

Those of you who know the Gorge -- I was disappointed because there was no significant snowfall as far as Multnomah Falls. I was disappointed, because I heard that last weekend the Falls were frozen, damn, Mark, why didn't we find out? And I want to get Rooster Rock with a head of snow. That is nasty only for those who know what Rooster Rock is and why it must be named that way...

Ayway, went there and back, was only able to get a few pics, too tired to post them tonight, all hand-held with, get this, on my 5d with a 70-200 f/2.8 IS possiby one or two, with a 24-105 IS maybe or not one or two, then waving out my window at snow-filled scenes with an SD630 pocket camera maybe one or two...

Bad conditions, but we do what we must, and I arrived home safely to shoot another day!

Well, the snowfall was heavy lemme tell ya, and there was this fog -- it was evil! I hope that tomorrow I can get at least one pic posted here of the snow...the snow...the horror!

Heh! Nah, just a front-wheel-drive Honda. The roads actually weren't bad, just all the stuff in the air, and terrible visibility!
