Thought Id start a post on Northern US Aurora - Northern Lights Alerts and when they will be seen below the Canadian border. Ive missed the last couple times in years past as with alot of other photographers. If you hear of them being visible post up a message on here and we can all get a chance to shoot some images.
I use this site for general info on the visability range http://www.gedds.alaska.edu/AuroraForecast/ Thanks for viewing and keep us informed. Paul

Looks like a pretty informative website. Another good one is Spaceweather.com, wich I look at often. Lots of good information other than aurora borialis information too.

Lucky for you peeps in the more northern latitudes.
I was lucky enough to witness aurora down here in the 41º latitudes after that x20 solar flare in 2003: (not very good, but serves the purpose) http://tomduggan.com/misc/astro/aurora03/ Aurora is pretty much unheard of down this far. IIRC, the aurora reached the Virginias for that particular instance. If you have the chance to experience it, don't miss it! Talk about eerie..... I'm heading to Alaska next June, but will miss the aurora due to it being daylight most of the time. Funny, aurora to Alaskan astronomers is considered light pollution! LOL! Tom D |

And for people in the UK there is AuroraWatch. My Grandfather use to be able to see the Northern Lights 40 years ago from Manchester but sadly light pollution has made my chances pretty much impossible!
