yep the photographer does have to press the button

in the same way as the solider has to pull the trigger, where as the general gives the orders.

well I don't know if he doesn't want to do, I just know that he doesn't.

The best way of thinking how he goes about his work is the same way that they go to make a movie.

He uses the same people to do the same work that they would do in a movie. However the only difference is that he takes a still shot instead of a moving shot.

Now you don't see steven spielberg holding the camera while he makes his movies do you.

and you never know, for him it could be all about the finial image more than anything.

Any photograph is all about the final image.
How its created is up to the photographer.
On a big set up like this he is also playing the role of a creative director, but as long as how the camera is set up, and when the shutter button is pushed are his disicions, then he is the photographer.

Cool.

Give it a good test - I was dubious for a couple of days when I got mine back.

Need to pester them everyday like Chris did.

After all the 1DIII is the full professional camera, unlike the 40D.
Canon themselves told me that last time, and laughed at people who use 20/30/40D series for pro work, like weddings and motorsports. Said they should only be using high quality 1D

But yeah, mine is going well. Never had any focusing issues, and never once had Error 99, unlike the 20D
Yes its the ai servo focus issues delayed because they are waiting on the parts! I've got a couple of trips coming up so will be pis..d off if its not ready.

Congratulations - that was well done by Canon. Perhaps it was helped by the general recall in other countries for that fault in the 40D.

I agree, Moppie. Remote cable. Remote computer control. Sound or movement detection. Robot control. Employee control. Where's the line?

The photographer is the person who determines the lighting, composition and camera settings, and causes that shot to be taken. Be it mechanical, electronic, radio or voice triggering.
