As im doing more and more weddings and have alot of different images to show on my website these days, my question to you guys is..
do you's have seperate galleries from each wedding or do you's simply have one gallery only from various weddings and simply just pick the best ones to show on your site?

I've currently only got highlights from this year's weddings but I will shortly put up individual weddings as well because people are asking for it. In other words it's a good idea to show both.

I put up 10 or so images from each wedding on my main site under a few different sections and my blog and then I also have a link to my proofing gallery where clients can see entire wedding galleries if they want.

I do my favorite (not necessarily best) 30 from each wedding, and categorize them as such. Proofing is separate but integrated. www.cdifoto.com.

havent had a reply from them yet Do you have to have good HTML and Flash knowledge to have one of these sites. Are the templates one off payments and then you own the template for life. no monthly charges etc etc. ive looked at a lot of the templates, can the layouts be changed around. like say i want to move images to another part of the screen or my text etc, is it easy enough to do this. do they come with a splash screen so i have the option of HTML and flash. so search engines work. Im sure i have other questions but these are right off the top of my head. thank you. John

No problem
You do not need to have any flash or html knowledege. The backend of the sites are very, very easy to use. Yes you pay once and that is it. You own it. You do need to have a hosting company. It dosen't have to be Blu. If you do use them for hosting it's $100 per year. Usually the templates are pretting much how you see them. You can change colors, music, logo...some have the option for buttons to be in different spots. I can customize where I want text on my template. Yes they all come with a splash page I believe. Some of the templates are dual portal and have a flash side and an html side. I have only personally owned two sites so these are just guesses from what I have found. Just be pateint with them when it comes to email responses..they can be slow. they are extremely busy. Just try again if you don't hear from them. Also you can ask questions on their blog..i have gotten answers this way before. |

My website has "The Best Of" to show the highlights of what I consider to be some of my better work. It's a smattering of images from numerous jobs over several years.
By contrast, my PBase Galleries are set up a bit differently. Every time I shoot a wedding, bar mitzvah, social event or other type of job, a set of proofs for that job is displayed in it's own gallery. Clients are mailed a link to their particular gallery, which may or may not be passworded per their request. - Stu |
