I personally think that terms such as these should be removed permanently from our selling lexicon never to be resurrected. If you use these terms consistently in your selling practices, realize that you have a problem and you need to seek help.

I would suggest a ban from the POTN buy and sell forum for a pre-determined amount of time for any continued use of any of the terms listed below:

Mint
Minty
Mint-a-riffic
Just a hint of mint
Boxed
Gripped
Paypaled
Tack
Tack Sharp
like new
goodies
package deal only
delivered
delivered to your door
LNIB
NIB
factory fresh
sealed
on the cheap
all the standard fruit
clean copy
first $X.XX takes it!
thanks for looking
will try to post pictures later
FS: Canon Stuff
Yard Sale
Blowout Sale
Closet Cleaning
Cleaning out my bag
Globally New
extras

Feel free to add some of your own to this list as it was not meant to be exhaustive. I think that we can have a better buy and sell forum when phrases such as these are a thing of the past.
It's probably easier to just ban you.

I agree that a pristine box that has been in the hall closet while the lens has been all over tarnation does not mean much........

Time to put my dusty, beat up lens in the box it came in and sell it as a "boxed' copy - yeah - that's the ticket!

On ebay, "boxed" seems to mean that it is in a box (any box, as opposed to a paper bag or an old sock). "Never used" means that it was given absolution from all previous use.

I always steer well clear of anything described as in 'good' condition because that usually means it is actually in terrible condition.

Some of those words would be good to be banned, im not sure how this software works on this forum, but if you banned "gripped" what if someone wanted to say, included is the "BG-E4 Grip" would the software block the "grip" part because "gripped" is banned? It's like that on other forums i've used...just wondering if it would do that here...?

Taken from the sticky:
The following is a list of some online stores that are not Canon
Authorized Dealers:

2. www.cameraexpress.com
3. www.buy.com
4. www.ebay.com (auction sites)
5. www.USAPHOTONATION.COM
6. www.inoax.com
7. www.fotoconnection.com
8. www.ccicameracity.com
9. www.electrodiscounts.com
10 www.digitalliquidators.com
11. www.realdealshop.com
12. www.bestpricecameras.com
13. www.hotbuyselectronics.com
14. www.vipcamera.com
15. www.newegg.com
16. www.simon.com
17. www.infinitephoto.com
18. www.amphotoworld.com

no, newegg.com is one of if not the best electronics websites there is. they are the b&h of computer parts. I take it they are just not authorized dealers of canon stuff, which is odd because the price they want for canon stuff sure is high.

Okay thanks. I read on here that quite a few of the sites offering cameras are scams and it surprises me that these sites can exist for so long without being removed or put out of business.

This whole thing is silly.

Ban those words, and nobody would be able to sell a thing...

I disagree with you there - they would just have to get beyond trite and over-used statements.

The annoying thing is that I needed to refer to Hitler's National Socialist party yesterday and it starred out the abbreviation. That was a bit silly!

also have to ban "rarely used" because its mean "rarely mounted on the camera", but says nothing about the lens staying without protection in the the camera bag and receiving a bumps every time the one lens which is not "rarely used" gets in and out.

and dont forget to ban also "I'm a professional photographer" which is supposed to mean "I take care of my lens" but means instead: "my lens are jerking in my bag 360 days a year and I dont care because I can sell them on the internet whenever I want.
