You can dial in some EC if you want to under or overexpose some.

When shooting in TV you select the SS and the camera selects the aperture. In sports you normally want to keep the lens wide open to help get separation between the player and the background.
DAMN!!! I can't believe I made rookie mistake like that. I guess it's because I always shoot in M.

Some folks believe that Tv is the way to shoot sports, and when someone comments that their shots have too large of a depth of field, or their backgrounds are too busy, or that the shots look like they were taken with a Point-n-Shoot camera, they don't know how to respond.

One of the primary things that sets apart a great action shot from an average one (and like I said above, one of two reasons why I have a 400mm lens that is worth more than my car - the other reason is so I can shoot available light when there isn't much light available) is the ability to have the subject jump off the page. The best way to do this is to shoot wide open and STAY wide open, and shooting Tv will not ensure this will happen.

Shoot Av when the light is variable or unpredictable, select an ISO that will ensure you freeze the action, then monitor the shutter speed - change your ISO when the shutter speed is not what you need.
Im not saying which way to shoot between Av or Tv. Thats why I said I dont know whos right. All I said is I see A LOT of sports shot in TV. I see appealing cases for both sides. Av keeps that 2.8 aperture, Tv makes sure your shutter speed doesnt drop too low. Like I said, I dont know whats "right" and Im not going to tell somebody to use either/or...Ill stick with M whatever the case is.

That being the case, when I dont shoot M, I am in Av...Just my preference.
Im not saying what I do is right, or what other people do is wrong...This is just what I do and what works for me.

Thanks for all the input. Whoever said they were markes for the chalk lines was correct. They are to cheap to get the frame to mark so they put the markers around home plate. These pics were not cropped, they were straight from the cam. I used to have settings for sunny and for cloudy/overcast then got sick (the same day they were taken and ended in the hospital for 6 1/2 days ) and somehow it all got messed up and now I gotta figure it all out again. I do try to experiment with M now and then when self teaching time is available at the fields.

If you think the pics are too warm, you can adjust the white balance to another setting and try it out. Your exif data says the camera is set on auto WB. You can also try setting the temp yourself. Maybe start at about 4700 and adjust from there.
