Default Sunpak PZ40X or Canon 420ex

I don't do many flash shots but need to get a flash for the times when I do need that extra bit of light, can't realy justify the 550, so anyone have any thoughts on the above or alternatives under £130/dollars.

I haven't heard of the Sunpak 40, is it a new flash?

If not, definitely check out this link:
http://www.botzilla.com/photo/strobeVolts.html

If it was not described as 100% Canon EOS compatible, I certainly would go with the original (420).

Best regards,
Andy

I am using Vivitar 285 with the rebel and I am completely happy... so far... I only took 20 shots

Rated at 43 meters, tilt head, zoom, full, half quarter and 1/16 power... Nice thing and cost me 81 CAD bucks with shipping. But it needs a few shots for adjustment. It won't fire in any "smart" mode.
