yeah I can't wait man. I hope it is worth it because I had no issues with the 40D at all. I think it is one of the gems in the rough for canon.

I see you've got a mkII coming - I think you're going to love it. The fps and (more importantly, imo) the near total lack of shutter delay alone make it great for sports.

Nice shots .

thanks. yeah with strobes I won't need the FPS, but I can't wait for some daylight type shooting where I can use the speed!

Heck I might shoot a little without the strobes just to see it in action.

yeah topher I still have not got my home gym figured out man. Every gym I have been in I get it done in 20 minutes after shooting and adjusting. I just hate my gyms ceiling, it really frustrates me lol

I am thinking of direct flash next time in the JV game, dial it down big time and maybe use a 3rd light (sigma flash in slave mode) to fire in the backcourt when I take an image.

I don't know what to do with the home gym to be honest. My 800's just can't shoot right with the big gym and high sloping ceilings.

Like I said I think I am going to move the strobes to the floor level next time and see if that will help since they will be closer to the court.

I believe they play taylorsville this next week at taylorsville so I am hoping to see one of the guys that posts on here Don't get to meet a lot of photogs at these games here in Utah lol

I hope they don't hate me with my strobes (said there was a few of them that shoot the game)

Matt i think your strobe placement was fine here man ... seriously..... good light on the players and it's nice and even .... i just ment that if you turned down your iso a bit i dont think you would get a flashed look and loss of detail in the white uniforms like in shot 4.

topher,

Just looking back over my pictures it seems that if I used ISO 640 I was a stop or a touch more underexposed. In 800 ISO i was between .50 and .75 underexposed.

I guess being a stop underexposed isn't to bad to be honest.

Here were two shots shot at 640 ISO and adjusted. To me I did less work on the 800's then the 640's.
