Default it's enough to make me cry!

I was driving (very slowly) down a back-country road today, when this hawk flew right in front of the car and landed in a tree nearby. Didn't have time to even turn the engine off - so I shot through the less-than-immaculate front window, right before the hawk decided to move on.

I'm almost positive it's a sharp-shinned hawk. If so, this is the first time I've actually seen one.

One of these days, this is all going to come together, right?

I feel your pain. They are usually gone by the time I pull over too.

I know that kind of stuff can drive you nuts. I was going out to my deck to put some bird seed in my feeders. The birds already there flew off as normal. I then heard some heavier wing beats and a Sharp Spined hawk flew down, landed on the railing and looked at me for a minute or two!! Of course I had no camera and If I moved he would have flown off anyway. Eventually he flew off, but it was the closest I have ever been to a hawk in the "wild".
