How did you come up with your name? (looking for some feedback!)

How did you come up with the name of your photography business and why did you go with it? Is there another name you thought of but decided against?
I’m trying to come up with a name for my web site ... So far I like EmmyLou Photography (My actual name is Emily but my husband calls my EmmyLou) or Captured Moments. Which do you like better? Do you have any other suggestions?

Captured Moments is cliche (IMO). EmmyLou is cute. You could even do something silly like M.E.Lou photography.

Ohhhhh this will freak you out, lol

When my wife was pregnant my neice went through the stage of imaginary friends, Her friend was called EIGHT. When my daughter was born and we called her Katie-Ellen, My neice said that Katie-Ellen was in fact EIGHT. She from then on has called her Katie EIGHT, Hence the name KT8 Photography, Thankfully no one ever asks! lol

so i just put a D at the end of it. heh.. i suppose i could have come up with something more original, but this suits me well i think.

Hi

There have over the months been similar threads which i have read with interest and as I know myself choosing a name is an angst ridden process

I posted another thread recently asking about "name"photo or photography and the 'type' of name to choose contemporary or funky. Well I had two names in mind each that I felt fell into either of those 'types' but acutally decided in the end on another that inspired me (it is amazing how many title/name variants have already been taken) - I want & hope that in my aim to create a web presence for my images it will be interesting and enduring with, and without sounding too pretentious, a meaning!

Though I have yet to setup the site I chose engramphoto ~ the reasoning is the meaning of the word engram when tied to the word photo or photography "spoke" to me: - one dictionary meaning is "engram - physical alteration thought to occur in living neural tissue in response to stimuli, posited as an explanation for memory" or "a postulated biochemical change (presumably in neural tissue) that represents a memory". And what are images but memories that we can actually share with others

The whole name is short and to the point, I hope
