And in case that you are wondering... On those specs, for a low light FF camera for WA I would buy the 7D IN A HEARTBEAT! Some very very accurate predictions in my opinion, we will find out very soon! All the best, Nelson |

Wishful thinking, it would be awesome if true. I would line up to buy the 3D in a heartbeat.

If it were true, I'd be on that 3D as well!

I'd be surprised if they made the next-5D with a higher frame rate than the 1Ds Mark III.

3D is too optimistic. It has the same spec as 1D Mk III except being a full frame sensor. It is selling for less than 1D Mk III with the same pixel density (thus the same reach). So there is no reason to spend more to buy a less capable 1D Mk III.

I don't see the 3D being FF but a 1.3 crop. From the the rumors I have been reading it is more of a "entry level" 1D. Better AF then xxD but not quit a 1D. Why would they make another FF camera that is FF if they will be releaseing a 5D replacement (in theory).

Oh and if the the 3D is in fact a slightly scaled down 1D MKIII...........I want one.
And I think I would even get a 450D to go along with it.

Sounds very optimistic to me.
Why would a DSLR ever need "face recognition" ? I see that as a feature for point & shoots. Perhaps the very low-end DSLRs aimed entry-level hobbyists would be interested, but it seems to me that DSLR buyers wouldn't care. JMO. Two more days and we'll know something... I hope it's good news. -Michael

Wishful thinking in my opinion. Rumors are now that there won't be a 5D successor anounced at PMA, so 2008 may only end up with just one DSLR, the XTi replacement.

the 3D may be in the works indeed. And the body will be smaller , sort of 1v with a small grip. (fuji kind of "small" to be clear)
the prototype also must be out there. no idea about the sensor. it will be a second body for many to carry, mostly news people. |
