hi, I shot these today... but I am not very good since I am just an amateur I used 20d, some cheap 50mm lens and 2 alienbee b400 lights, one slightly above the objects and another behind me for filling. I believe I used around 1/200 and f4 at the time of the shoot Honestly I think that these photos looks... boring, dead. Me blocking the fill light or whatever aside, what other tips can you offer? Thanks for your advices in advance.

Don't be so hard on yourself, they're not too bad. Just a little too much lighting, I'd guess. Or add a little contrast in post processing maybe.

These photos are fine. You have some shadows on the left/front but thats not that huge of a deal. Play with curves a little to add some contrast (touch the highlights up a bit and bring down the shadows.)
