First off - don't say snap. (lol)
I think you are on the right track here... Watch your horizontals. Why did you chose iso 1600, 1/800 and F20? Talking specifically about the barn and windmil image. Drop your ISO and decrease your f-stop and shutter speed. The barn isnt moving very fast. You could have been at f7.1 and 1/125 or 1/200 with an ISO of 100 or 200 maybe. With an XS body, you likely don't want to be any higher than iso 800. I do notice that you have the High ISO noise that 1600 brings... Hope this helps! Ok, substitute snap for capture, does that sound better? lol I really have only been messing around with the settings and such so i honestly have no good explanation as to why i choose the settings i did. Any info is helpful so thank you! I will try your suggestion thank you. |

Another post of mine today of the Donnington Castle gatehouse remains, it suffered a bit of civil war damage in 1646, the other is in the ir gallery, this time it's been processed in 'Oloneo Photoengine' and PS using the 'ColorEfex Pro' filters, which one I used I can't remember, but I think it looks okay.
So here it is then. Thanks for looking. Rich

It is a process, if you go to someone's early shots on Flickr or blogs you can often see the improvement over time. Keep shooting regularly and you will improve, but most importantly you'll have fun!

Great stuff Michelle! I can't pick a favorite.
Here's an old ruin from out in the middle of the Witchita Mountain Wildlife Refuge in Oklahoma. ![]() I can't believe how well the new 5D3 handles high ISO... this is ISO 5000.
