Canon S500 vs. Fuji E550 - why shold I buy the Canon?

Did anyone with more experiance then I posess (I am a novice to photography) compare the Canon S500 to the Fuji E550?

Should I purchase the S500 and why? (I am pretty much leaning toward the S500 but I need that last push toward Canon...)

I have a reall problem with fujifilm digital cameras.

They are IMO incrediably dishonest.
The E550 claims to be 6mp. In reality its only about 4mp or less (maybe only 3mp) and the camera use's some onbourd software to enlarge the image to make it 6mp.
The result if of course a loss in quality, I don't care if its only a small amount, its done with tricking the consumer in mind in the hope they can pass off inferior technology as something better than it really is.

Its not the only fijifilm camera to claim to be able to take larger resolution pics than the sensor is infact capable of either, and its not something they like to advertise.
I only worked it out when a noticed a retailer here in NZ was advertising fujifilm cameras with thier effective and thier actual resolutions stated in the specs.

Thank you for your feedback -- I was under the impression that it is a 6 MP CCD, however, it is iterpolated to 12.X MP...interestingly, it does not seem like there is a choice of 6 MP resolution thoough. It seems to jump from what looks to me 4 MP resolution all the way up to 12 MP.

I have a hard time deciding since the Fuji E550 is very new and neither of dcresource.com or dpreview have had a chance to do a full review on it. The specs are very impressive, and it isn't much bigger then the Canon S500 and actually a bit less expensive if you do not take the MEGA EXPENSIVE xD cards into consideration.

Anyone had a chance to campere the two "head to head"
