WB done from a chart - not the ice in hockey
Just a simple shot of a little guy lining up for the faceoff. I'm showing it because the rink I was shooting in for this game had an elevated area above the penalty boxes that functioned as a pseudo-pressbox. A surprise to me was an 11"x17" colour chart stuck on the wall with velcro. The top of the chart said 'get your white balance here'. So I did.
What a difference. I think the white is dead on and the ice shows a more representative blue tone like it actually has. I did remove colour cast by selecting a strip of white trim from the jersey; that brought it back to the white seen here. (I think the slight pinkish hue prior to PP was from cycling lights)
I've always been a WB-off-the-snowy-ice guy. But I like what I see, so now I have a grey card and the digital grey card set inbound from B&H.
Like Dennis says 'white is always white'.
What do you think?

Looks sweet to me. I think you nailed the WB. It's a bit funny about the pinkish tint related to laundry and not PP.
