Default Sydney Opera House

From our November 2007 trip. It was pretty rainy when we first got to Sydney, but thankfully it cleared up before we left so we were able to get this capture:

Thanks, quiksilverboi! We were fortunate enough to get some tickets to the symphony @ the opera house. We sat behind the orchestra which was cool from the unique perspective. Too bad they don't allow photos though.

We used our 24-105. F8, 20s, ISO 100, XTi body.

thats a stunning shot - I wish I had had a dslr when I went a few years back - all my pics were rubbish!

Have you done any reworking with the colour of the lights as the blue is really cool!

Ojobson and Darren, thank you for the compliments! I completely hear you about having a DSLR a few years back, or in my case, having any semblance of a clue of how to take a half-decent picture. Making some progress since those dark days, but such a long way to go.

No color tweaking... a little extra exposure and fill light, but no curves/sat/contrast/etc. For whatever reason, that last "shell" had blue light in it that night. My wife didn't like the blue, but I thought it was kind of cool. Here's one more from another angle:

Great shot! The weather is still a bit dodgy here. We've been getting a lot of rain!

With all the photos that have been taken of the SOH, I never get tired of viewing another one. That is such a gorgeous site. I surely want to get there someday. Thanks for sharing your pics.

Excellent shot, love the exposure and tones. If I had to pick a negative I would say there's a bit too much sky at the top.

I don't know which weather channel we were watching over there, but your TV weather people were SO excited with all the rain! The constant reporting over how full the dams were getting was rather unique. Hope things are better now.

We weren't sure how to frame it... to try and put horizon on the thirds or the opera house shells on the thirds. I see where you're coming from though. Maybe I've got one somewhere...

No, I brought a tripod along for the night shots. F9, 15s, ISO 100.
