Default Anyone tried the new X-Drive?

http://store.yahoo.com/insidecomputer/x.html

It looks interesting and, like Image Tank, lets you install your own HD.

Anyone tried one? Comments?

Thanks.

40 gig? Man, that is virtually unlimited space! Even the smaller 10 gig would be more than I could ever use.

This would be a great way to unload your microdrive in the field without lugging the laptop along.

As file sizes get larger due to advanced digital clarity this could be a lifesaver. I don't need this yet with my D30 but as time goes on........

Thanks for the heads up!

OK. I checked further. It's distributed by:
http://www.vosonic.co.uk/
who also have other, similar products.

The manufacturer is in Taiwan and has been around since 1995:
"Since its establishment in 1995, Vosonic has continued to maintain the role as an innovative manufacturer of audio/video products. Our main markets include Europe, Central/South Americas, and Africa. Vosonic products have gained CE and FCC approvals due to our devotion to improvement of quality assurance system. In the future, we plan to invest more resources in the A/V digital products."
Their homepage is: http://www.vosonic.com/cd/owa/siw_ma..._id=8801707228
Their product page is at: http://www.vosonic.com/cd/owa/siw_te..._id=8822566462

It apparently can be ordered with a hard drive or without and you install a standard 2.5" laptop HD.

I've sent for product information and hope I can get it before I need to make a decision. My D60 gets very greedy and *likes* to take lots and lots of photos.
