Default '50 Merc Sedan - 5 pics

This is a real beauty & everyone wanted one in the '50s.
Appraised at $38,000
300D, Kit lens, ISO 200, RAW, Manual everything.
1/8 sec, f-11

Like the sign reflecting in the hood? More PS work for this Winter.

I decided to incorporate the reflection at the top-left in the background to avoid having to PS it out.

350 Chevy motor & trans.

Did they really make that design in the 50's ! man, that car is beautiful.

btw, what does Merc stands for (is it Mercuray?), I thought you were refering to a Mercedes.

The top has been 'chopped', which means that a section has been taken out to lower the profile.

Frank, That's one gorgeous "Lead Sled". And of course your PS work makes it all the better. I'm going to have to learn how you do that effect one of these days.

Vents. They're called louvers.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

c0ntr0lz: It might be an aftermarket grill. Looks a lot like the one on the T-Bird in this post:

oh (posh sounding O)

so that's where the name of certain wardrobe doors came from :P

( wonder which came first ...the car or the doors) ?

by the way I like all the shots
looking at them later I realised that
I just know I shouldn't say it though

Thanks Frank

No, thank you Marie!
I'm glad you all liked the car. I think I should have named it "Black Beauty"!
