Question Swim Meet, C&C appreciated

Since I acquired my Canon SX100, I've taken to getting snapshots when I'm not swimming in our school meets. Here are a few from the last one. I'm going to bring my tripod to the next one and see if I can use that to my advantage any.

Not so much. It makes a T with the "stem" going 25 Meters and the "cross" going 50 Meters. Olympic short course and long course.

Don't worry about the tripod - get your shutter speed up to at least 1/250.

At 1/100 & 1/125 like you've got here, you're going to get motion blur. You may be able to freeze slower youngsters, but you're doing high school and you gotta get faster. I don't know your camera's limits so try to get some of that natural light from those large windows working for you to help get your ss up.

NIce shots! I like the angles you chose - but my favorite swin team pics are from the level of the pool edge. Just lie down an get a shot as they hit the water, and I think you might like the effect. Also, I agree that you need to shoot a faster shutter speed - that will eliminate the blur you have now - unless that is what you are going for to show the speed of the athletes.
