Lightbulb Are you serious... yet ANOTHER dog portrait?

My first attempt at 'dog portraiture'. Feel free to show some of your dog portraits in black and white...

Really nice portrait. What kind of dog is this? A Border Collie?

If you click on the picture it takes you to Flickr and the description is as follows:

"Maggie is a miniature Australian Shepherd (18 inches at the shoulder)."

Very vivid photo. Once again. Wow!

Cheers, Shayne

Beautiful shots, I love the softness of the Aussie!

This was WAY out of focus!

Great images! Another one of Wallace on his favorite chair, he isn't winking by the way, high contrast, obviously...

Still experimenting with B & W here. It seems harder with brown dogs. lol

Anyway, here is one of Faith that I like. Haven't got my other dog to sit still long enough. I really like her eyes in this one (she doesn't like the grey on her chin).

Love it! Great photo (or maybe I'm just partial to herding breeds). It would be super strong with a crop of just the face but maybe not as sharp if you have to lose that much of the image.

I think there are two approaches to this. I took my shot first thing in the morning when she was still half-asleep (she is not a morning dog)... the alternative would be to run them out of energy then bring them inside for the shoot.

Hoff,

Nice shot. I quite like the pose. Animals are so difficult to work with.

I would have loved the eyes slightly sharpened and a bit more of a twinkle added.

Very nice photos so far! Thought I'd throw my guys into the mix.

Here's Riley, my fawn boxer who'll be 6 years old next month. He's starting to get some gray hairs on his face.

Here's Mason my 4 year old brindle boxer. He's the clown of the family!
