I still can't get the kind of angle that AdamLewis is getting... still trying to figure out why... and I need to figure how to crop the images...

Nice shots. Is that strobed or ambient?

Ambient...

somehow, everyone doesn't believe that even the NBA and top NCAA level games uses strobes...

You have some good captures, I like the way you have cropped the images you posted, one of the lessons I learned years ago is cropping is all in personal preference. I have submitted images before and could not figure out why that image was cropped a certain way. It looks like the lighting in your gym gym is pretty good, I will be shooting a double header at BCU on the 1st which is a dungeon, we always strobe those games.

thanx... but I'm starting to hate my images more and more... I can't seem to get the kind of shots like what other members like AdamLewis, AthleticsPhotog, scejas, etc...

i cropped my images based on the 2x3 ratio, in hopes of someone buying them... it's not been good so far.. but hoping it will change come tomorrow, Monday

there's another embry-riddle where you are at... well, in Prescott, not Phoenix, yeah, we're in the barely existence NAIA DIV II

facebook = free advertising... but they're "heavily" watermarked to prevent theft. I told the players they're more than welcome to use the images I have on facebook for free in their own profile and hope that they support me, else, I might have to stop shooting after the conference ends at the end of the month.

the theft is by the athletics department, which from my past experience don't give out proper credits nor recognizes relatively good images.

MUCH better, the ONLY thing I would say is that they are too dark. I would go down to 1.8 or 2.2 if you have a 85 1.8 and you should eb right there...great job!

They look good so don't be down on them. I doubt you see the colors pop like Adam's or Matt's, or Dennis' unless you strobe. Crops are nice and action is great. If I had any cc, I think they look a little cold. Bump the temp a bit and I think they'll look more natural.

These aren't really 6th graders though, right?

noted on the temp... will take a look at them.

Aim high so even when you fall short, you're still somewhat close.

they're not 6th graders, but the are professionals players so to speak, they are paid to play, as defined by the term professional players.

I'm my own worst critics and I'm not about to let myself be complacent with what I'm putting out right now.

BTW, would someone be able to explain to me, shot number 7

both the players face, has a pinkish hue to it, but the rest of their body color is ok... I can't figure that one out.

Nice shots but I agree that the players faces are a bit underexposed. The uniforms look great but faces/skin are a bit dark.

Try adjusting for the skin and see if that makes a difference.
