I really like JDubya's design the best.
Not to take anything away from R-strap, but I wanted something in camo. I found this website. Pretty much anything and everything you would need to make a strap. www.strapworks.com |

isn't this answer a stickie yet?

Sweet deal, I might try this. I love my POTN strap and I was going to buy extensions to make it that much easier to swing around, but this could work. I'll be needing another strap soon anyhow.

oh ok, so you had to buy a strap and get it off of that. You weren't able to buy just the hook.

But for further help, as posted above, www.strapworks.com sells all kinds of different snaphooks individually. |

Here's my version
based similar to the first 'homemade' design, I think this design is even better than the original r-strap camera attachment since it's slimmer, but just as strong. The rubber 'grip' seen on the right is originally designed for keys (so you can color code them) The 1/4 inch screw goes through the washer, key rubber, and the D-ring attachment ![]() ![]() ![]() |

the yankster:
Nice use of the key protector for the plastic bumper! If you use a Dremel, or hacksaw to cut a slot in the bolt head, a dime can be used to loosen or tighten the attachment bolt without spending a whole bunch on a custom bolt. |

I believe this is exactly the same piece can be found here http://www.strapworks.com/Metal_D_Ring_w_Clip_p/drc.htm It does have to drilled out to fit a 1/4 " hex bolt, but after that, you're good to go |

Alright everyone, I have a new site for you: Hardware Elf.com They have the same snaphooks that are used on the R-Strap (also like the one in my pics except I have the 1.5" version).
Between Hardware-Elf and StrapWorks you can get everything you need to make an R-Strap for under $10.

That's great
I think it's also on Hardware elf too it still feels a bit weird/naked with no neck strap anymore, a small price to pay for mobility |
