Default HDR help. tips..

well i read about it now i just have a few questions.
What is a good numbers of exposurs to take to make a hdr.
how far off should each exposure be? by this i mean in the light meter in my 30d, should one be -2 then 1 normal in the middle and +2?
i use photomatix. so all you do is just open the three photos and generate them to hdr then mess around in tone mapping.. correct?

thanks
espo

heres my first hdr attempt.. its only two exposures though.
lmk what you think, am i on the right track? thanks again

You can use as many exposures as you want.. I usually use -2, 1 ,2.

and yes you just generate the photos into hdr and then go into tonemapping.

All the settings may be a bit confusing so I'll give you a link to read up about hdr. just play around and see what comes out. thats what I did.

Yes I agree with the above, however I mostly use HDRs for high contrast interiors.

Landscapes are normally best treated with GND techniques, either in camera or in PP.
