It very much depends on how good a mate he is
I have shot friends weddings for free as a wedding gift

sorry are you asking what the going rate is as you will be doing it and don't know how much to charge or are you asking what the going rate is for a professional service?
If it is the former than as I said previously it all depends on how good a friend he is. If it is the latter then there is no going rate, it very much depends on the quality (or name) of the photographer and the package that is required.

How many weddings have you shot before?I would say if weddings isnt your normal thing, maybe a few hundred or so and then just give them a cd of all the photos..... Our packages start at $1500 and go to $6500, but we just did a good friends wedding for $500 and just gave them all the shots on a dvd, something we dont ever do for normal clients. But since we do it more for the love of photography, and not just the money, we did it for cheap. We both have full time jobs, so weddings are just fun money for us. |

I'd suggest you check the websites of photographers in the same geographical area. Then adjust your prices based upon this being your mate. It could be anywhere from free to what-ever you feel is fair to charge based upon your skill and experience.

I second that, it's what we all had to do...research the market in your area, find who you are going to use as a lab, work it out. Every area (market) is different.
Good Luck |

You can pay between nothing an £5000. I would use google to look for photographers in your area, some will have prices up on their websites.
