Default Tech Info for Canon CCDs?

Am thinking about a new PowerShot (PS) so am researching the various models.

Am especially interested if there is a significant difference in the S/N and other specs for the 7, 8 and 12MP PS CCDs?

Could not find any tech info on the CCDs on Canons website so called the Canon Tech Line and asked where I would find tech CCD info: Pixel Size, S/N... and if the sensor has microlenses or other features. Was told they do not have this info.

Was able to find some info on the CMOS sensors but that is not what am looking for.

Was able to find sensor size for these CCDs
7 and 8 MP 1/2.5"
12 MP 1/1.7"

Appreciate any info on these CCDs, help to find it, or Comments concerning Image Quality...

Thanks
