how to turn off on-camera flash (40d)

I can't figure out how to turn off the on camera flash when I use my off camera flash on my new 40d.

Take it out of AUTO. Shoot on P mode until you get used to the settings. If you want to pop up the flash, hit the button on the upper front left of the camera.


Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

Ya, flash will pop up anytime you use AUTO (aka, the GREENBOX)
