Default First 'home-studio' shots..... C+C please

I've been working for a while getting together a 'Strobist' kit so I can start experimenting with off-camera flash. The first thing I wanted to use it for was a beginner's 'home studio', and last weekend my fiancee sat down and did some posing for me to try things out. These are the best of the ones I got, let me know how I did! I posted these in the C&C section but didn't get too much feedback.

I've got a lot to learn about angles, and especially setting up poses, but also let me know how the lighting is. I was going for an over-exposed background look, but might have done the same to my subject.

1-2: DIY softbox camera left, flash behind subject camera right for hair-light, flash camera right bounced on the ceiling for fill/background.

1.

2. (My fav)

3-5: DIY softbox camera left, flash behind subject camera right for hairlight, flash behind subject on backdrop.

3.

4.

5.

First - What a beautiful young lady!
I like the poses on all the pics. I wish her feet weren't cut off in the first pic though.
I'm not a strobist so I can't offer anything more than to say they look great.
You'll have no problem practacing and experimenting - enjoy the fun. And post more!

^^ true; I posted them in the C&C section looking for responses but didn't receive much feedback.

BigH, thanks for the comments. I would have kept her feet in the frame but I ran out of background material where she was sitting!
