Default Recommendation of lighting setup....please

I do the photo's for my girls dance studio, but while they are dancing. The owner has asked me to do a scheduled shoot where i can have a backdrop, controlled lighting , etc...

Currently I have a Metz54MZ for miscellaneous shots but guess that i'll need a real light(s) with softbox, diffuser or something.

I know zero about this aspect but feel like taking the challenge.

Any tips?

Thanks in advance for your comments.

I'll be doing some reading here as well.....http://photography-on-the.net/forum/...d.php?t=138912

Consider renting a small lighting kit instead of buying. You proably don't need much, a couple of lights in soft boxes and maybe a background/hair light.

Thanks Tim. I was thinking of a small AB kit. I've been wanting one for a home studio but really couldnt justify it. If this gig would pay for it, i'd be real happy and end up with a light setup, even if not a super one.

I have two great looking little girls that dance competitively therfore inhouse models

Two AB800s, get stands, umbrellas, soft boxes etc from B&H. Or B&H sells one brand that's decent and reasonably priced, I forget which one, it's in an FAQ I wrote somewhere in this forum.
