Like the shot, but can you explain "reverse lens technique"?

I think something that makes flower shots stand out is capturing detailed texture on the petals. Also, I think it would have worked better to get the entire flower in, as the eye naturally plunges off the right edge.... Not saying my macro results are any better, but I know what I'm aiming for . Cheers, Tony

( reverse lens technique is where a lense is attached facing the camera, which provides more magnification - I've read that there are some adapters you can buy to do this )

Using an adapter, you mount the adapter on the camera body, then you screw on a prime lens to the adapter using the prime lens filter threads.
In another variation of that, the "adapter" can be a bellows.

Would not the same thing be accomplished by using extension tubes?

Extension tubes allow you to get closer subjects in focus. Reversing the lens changes the angle of the FOV.
