:'( Too bad. Haha. I knew the answer was going to be no. I need a 10-20 Sigma or 10-22 Canon... I'm shooting rig with my 17-40L once it's finished. I hope that I have enough length with my rig being 20' long

I built my first rig and took some shots with a friend's car - here's what we came up with.

I love the last shot demonstrating the 4 wheel steering of the Honda Prelude.

Here's my rig:

I actually really like that birds eye angle... Never thought about mounting the rig like that. Your rig seems to be pretty stable. What focal lengths are you shooting and how long is the pole?

The pole is about 4.5m long.
I'm shooting with a Sigma 10-20mm. Most of the time it's around 16mm.

Shots vary from 6/10 up to 1.5sec long.

It's nice and stable, I simply used 2 cheap suction cups from Bunnings (I'm in Australia). They're meant for holding glass.
I mounted them to the boom with some clamps and some long bolts. The boom is in 2 pieces and the joiner is a fence-post joiner.

All up rig cost was under AUD$100. I bought a cheap ebay Magic Arm for $60 to finish off the build.

Pretty happy with the outcome.

You should be happy as most people are spending about $350 USD for the same stability results... I'm going to use a ball joint head to mount the camera.. Maybe use a Magic arm in the future. What are the specs on your boom?

some great work in here, havent been in this thread since like the 200's lol.

anyway- i got my hands on these carbon fiber tubes a while ago but gave up on the build, and have since gone digital...
but these would still be great for a rig if anyone is up for the challenge- if put end to end all these tubes could stretch to over 45ft. mmmmmm the tube's are 4"x 4" wide (Square tubing, NOT cylindrical), 79.75" long, .11" wall thickness and approx. 6 lbs each

anyone interested in these PM me with an offer..

One of my first photos with my new rig, can't wait to get to some better locations and shoot some nicer cars. Any feedback would be great!

Ok, so you got me lol. I actually thought afterwards that it might've just been a highly edited rig shot. The only thing original about that shot is the car itself Good edit though.
